Our Story Paws Place Rescue Inc. was founded out of a deep compassion for animals and a commitment to helping those who have nowhere else to go. What began as a simple desire to help animals in need quickly grew into a mission to create a safe place where abandoned, neglected, and vulnerable animals could receive the care and second chances they deserve. Located in Whitney, Texas, Paws Place Rescue serves animals throughout Hill County and surrounding rural communities where resources for animal welfare can be limited. Many of the animals that come through our rescue have faced difficult circumstances, including abandonment, neglect, or lack of access to proper care. Our rescue was built on the belief that saving an animal is only the beginning. Each animal that enters Paws Place receives the time, medical care, rehabilitation, and compassion they need to heal and prepare for a loving home. For some animals, that means finding a forever family; for others, it means providing a safe sanctuary where they can live peacefully. Over time, Paws Place Rescue has grown into a community-driven organization dedicated not only to rescuing animals, but also advocating for responsible pet ownership, supporting local residents, and working toward long-term solutions that improve the lives of animals and the people who care for them. At Paws Place Rescue Inc., every animal’s story matters—and we are honored to be part of their journey to a better life. Community Partnership Working together with our community, volunteers, and partners allows us to create lasting solutions that improve the lives of animals and the people who care for them. Paws Place Rescue Inc. Caregiver Program At Paws Place Rescue Inc., we understand that sometimes people want to help animals in need but may not have the resources or support to do it alone. Our Caregiver Program was created to help community members safely care for animals while our rescue provides guidance, support, and resources. Through this program, compassionate individuals can provide temporary care for animals on their property while Paws Place Rescue assists with veterinary coordination, networking for adoption, and placement assistance when possible. This allows animals to remain in a safe and familiar environment while still receiving the support of an established rescue organization. Our Caregiver Program is especially helpful for: Stray animals that have found safe refuge with a community member Animals needing temporary placement while waiting for adoption Community members willing to provide basic care while we assist with resources and placement Participants in the program work closely with our rescue team to ensure the animals receive proper care and that we can help them transition into permanent homes whenever possible. Interested in Becoming a Caregiver? If you are interested in participating in our Caregiver Program, we would love to hear from you. Please complete our Caregiver Program Application Form, and a member of our team will contact you to discuss the next steps.
